Whats up Roamers! Paschal Farms believes in the power of being self-sufficient. Many people are quick to hire someone to do their every-day tasks that could be learned through a little self-education and a couple Youtube videos. Of course, it’s nearly impossible to be completely self-sufficient, but it’s the pursuit of self-sufficiency that will set you up for a healthy and satisfying life.

When whole communities are self-sufficient, the members of those communities tend to be happier, healthier, sustainable, and thriving! Think about it. When a community knows how to grow its own food, the people no longer have to rely on heavily subsidized, mass produced foods that are shipped from miles away. This makes food more accessible- eliminating food deserts and contributing to food security for all, not just the few who can afford it.

On an individual level, learning how to change the oil in your car or how to do your own taxes can save you thousands of dollars over the years. The possibilities are endless with what you can do with a thousand or more extra dollars a year. Imagine how many more dollars you can save by growing your own food! Guerilla gardener Ron Finley once said , “ Growing your own food is like printing your own money!” Do your future self a favor and begin learning how to become more self-sufficient today.
