1. I had more space
  2. I don’t run out of things to clean with
  3. I don’t feel sick anymore while cleaning

2020 changed a lot of things for everyone. For me, one of those things was the way I cleaned my spaces.

I saw a lot of Tide, Windex and Mr. Clean programming I mean commercials growing up so I stockpiled every product known to man to help achieve maximum cleanliness in my spaces.

When humanity slowed down, something seemed off with my cleaning regimen. Firstly I’ve always felt nauseous while cleaning, which I always attributed to stress. Secondly the clutter of products everywhere went against my minimalistic approach to life, and thirdly it felt like it was far too much work switching between products to complete simple and similar tasks.

I wanted a change so I put every cleaner in the house into two large paper bags and gave them away.

I now use only diluted Dr. Bronner’s castile soap [drbronner.com] for multi-surface, isopropyl alcohol for glass and baking soda/vinegar + castile soap for laundry.

I now have more space. I now rarely run out of products because I can just buy a couple of basics in bulk and mix more on demand. I now realize the cocktail of chemicals from cleaning toxins were making me nauseous my entire life because after switching, I have never felt better while cleaning.
